Simply put therapy is meeting with a trained professional to work together to understand problems and come up with plans for fixing them. Sometimes we help people relieve emotional distress and mental health problems. Other times we help you learn to manage when you're overwhelmed.
Can therapy help me?
Seeking help from a therapist is something many people consider especially when facing a significant crisis or grappling with problems in a relationship.
What will we discuss in therapy?
We will discuss anything that is on your mind. The therapist's role is to listen. The hour is yours to use as you feel will be most beneficial to you.
Will you give me advice?
Therapists don't give you advice, rather we give guidance and help you explore your choices.
There is no set length of treatment. Therapy can last from one session to several months. Many of our clients have specific problems to solve and others have more long-standing issues. You and your therapist will work together to track your progress and discuss when it is the right time to end therapy.
Our business hours are Monday through Friday from 9AM to 6PM. The first intake session lasts 90 minutes. Follow up appointments are 60 minutes unless otherwise specified.
